Two people, including a woman, were killed and six others were injured in separate road accidents in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj on Friday morning.
The deceased were - Nargis Khatun, 35, wife of Selim of Tettiarkanda area of Shahjadpur upazila, and Arshed Pramanik, 60, of Shelachapari area.
According to the police, one accident took place around 11 am on Friday at Jugnidah Karitala on the Bogura-Nagarbari Highway and another occurred in Baghabari area on the same highway at 11:30 pm.
A woman named Nargis Khatun, a passenger of an auto-rickshaw, was killed and driver of the auto was injured after a speedy truck the auto in Jugnidah area. The injured were rescued and admitted to Baghabari North Bengal Tank-Lorry Cooperative Society Hospital.
Another accident occurred at around 11:30 am after a truck rammed an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle near the Baghabari gas office of the upazila. The auto-rickshaw passenger Arshed died on the spot, said police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station MA Odud said police have visited the spots.
