CJ suspends court proceedings to pay respect to ex-AG AJ Mohammad Ali

Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan on Sunday suspended the proceedings of the Supreme Courts Appellate and High Court divisions to show respect to former attorney general and senior lawyer Abdul Jamil Mohammad Ali, popularly known as AJ Mohammad Ali, who died at a Singapore hospital on May 2.

The judicial functions of Appellate Division and High Court Division continued till 10:30am and 11:00am so that lawyers could mention cases for fixing hearing schedules for later.

Chief Justice, Obaidul Hassan, announced the traditional vacation after suspending its proceedings from 10:00am to mourn the death of the senior lawyer, lawyers said.
