Bodies of couple recovered in Gazipur

Police recovered the bodies of a teenager and his wife from a flat in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila on Friday. A note was recovered from their table at that time.

The bodies were recovered in the morning from a flat on the ground floor of a multi-storied building of one Faruk Khan at Mulaid village under the upazila.
The dead were Israfil, 17, son of Mofizul Haque, hailed from Haldi village under Jhinaigati Police Station in Sherpur district, and Rokeya Khatun, 15, daughter of Abul Kashem, Mymensingh's Ishwarganj upazila.

Mofizul Haque, father of the deceased Israfil, said, ''Our flat is next to their flat. Family cooking is done in Israfil's flat. In the morning, I found the door of Israfil's flat open and went inside. Meanwhile, I saw Israfil hanging and Rokeya's body lying on the bed.''

Borhan Uddin, brother of the deceased Rokeya, said, "The two developed an affair and got married around 7-8 months ago without the permission of their families. Both of them used to live on rent in that multi-storied building in that area. Israfil worked in a local workshop and Rokeya in a local factory. Their new family was doing well. Recently, Israfil quarreled with his parents and left home with his wife. I got news of their death in the morning.''

Sreepur Police Station Inspector Sakhawat Hossain confirmed it.
