Elderly woman burnt to death in Bogura fire

An elderly woman was burnt to death in a fire while cooking with a gas stove in Bogura Sadar Upazila on Thursday.

This accident took place in Bogura BSCIC residential area around 7:30 am.
The dead was Sonaban Bibi, 85, hailed from Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur district.

Shafiqul Islam, son of the deceased, said that he has been living in a rented house in Bogura's BSCIC area for a long time due to his job. It's been four months since her mother came home. In the morning, he saw heavy smoke in the house.

''After that, I entered the kitchen and saw that my mother had been burnt to death by the fire of the gas stove'', he added.

Bogura Phulbari Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Aminul Islam confirmed it.
