Wife of the arrested 'Child and Old Age Care' chairman Milton Samaddar has been summoned at the Detective Branch (DB) in Dhaka for questioning, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) additional commissioner (DB) Mohammad Harun-ar-Rashid.
He disclosed it while responding to a query of a journalist at his office at Mintoo Road on Saturday afternoon.
Harun-ar-Rashid said Milton Samaddar is now on remand. He is being quizzed about all the allegations raised against him. Milton's wife has also been summoned at the DB office on early Sunday (May 5) afternoon regarding the allegations raised against him. "We will also question his wife," he said.
Earlier, producing Milton at the court on May 2 , the investigation officer of the case DB's sub-inspector Kamal Hossain pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand. On the other hand, lawyer representing the accused pleaded for granting bail cancelling the remand. After the hearing, the judge passed an order placing him on a three-day remand.
At about 1:20pm, Milton was produced before the Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court. At that time, he was kept at the custody of Dhaka CMM court. During the hearing, he was produced before the dock.
The DB arrested Milton Samaddar conducting raid at Mirpur area on Wednesday (May 1) night. Then police filed three separate cases at Mirpur Model Police Station against him on charges of forgery through fraudulent way, human trafficking and attempt to murder.
