Bangladeshi 'shot dead by BSF' along C'nawabganj border


A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death allegedly by the members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Chapanawabganj's Gomastapur border early Wednesday.

The incident took place on Rokanpur border under Radhanagar union of the upazila.
The dead was Saiful 30, son of Hasan Ali, a resident of Nagarpara village under the union.

Radhanagar UP Chairman Matiur Rahman confirmed the matter. He said some people along with Saiful went into Indian territory through Rokanpur border to bring cows from India. At that time, BSF's Itaghata BOP patrolling members opened fire on them. Saiful died on the spot.

BGB Rokanpur BOP Commander Naib Subedar Azad Rahman said the matter is being investigated.
