Two children drown in Kushtia

Two minor children drowned in a pond at Khoksa upazila in Kushtia district on Monday.

The deceased were Jannati Khatun, 2.5, daughter of Shoyan Hossain, and Muslima Khatun, 3.5, daughter of Ratan Hossain. They were residents of Komarbhog village in the upazila.
Locals said Jannati and Muslima drowned in a pond nearby the house in the morning while going to play on its bank.

The bodies were spotted after a long time and recovered by locals.

Annur Zayed, officer-in-charge of Khoksa Police Station, said the bodies would by buried without autopsy as there was no complaint on behalf of their families.
