Battery-run rickshaw and easy bike drivers have been staging demonstration in the capital's Mirpur area protesting the ongoing crackdown against their vehicles.
Following their protest since 10am on Sunday, vehicular movement in Mirpur, 10, 11, 12 have remained suspended.
While visiting in Mirpur-11, the drivers were seen protesting on the road holding sticks. They barred other vehicles from going ahead.
Many commuters were forced to walk kilometres to reach their destinations as the drivers diverted buses in different directions.
Some of the drivers also chased other vehicles.
The rickshaw and easy bike drivers demanded to run their vehicles without any condition.
Huge tailback was created in different ares of Mirpur.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Sramik Adhikar Parishad organised a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club today.
Mirpur Model Police Station OC Munshi Sabbir Ahmed said, "Additional police force have been deployed to take the situation under control. We are trying to remove them from roads."
