An insight of the declaration of our independence

Published : Tuesday, 26 March, 2024 at 12:00 AM  Count : 831

The Declaration of Independence, a telegraphed message by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, inserted in the constitution of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh through the sixth schedule summarizes the seventh March speech delivered at the then Racecourse Maidan. The phraseology, syntactic construction, tone, and mood embedded in this brief and precise message tend to correspond 7 March speech. However, the aspiration of the Bangalee represented by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ischalked outthrough the texture of the7 March speech, and the declaration of independence culminates in the finality of the Bangalee aspiration as the Latin phrase,Veni, Vidi, Vici gains momentum in the consecutive two speeches of tumultuous March 1971. The 7 March speech describes the doleful history and the necessity of transforming every house into a fortress, and the 26 March speech gives out the final call of numbers in the long 24 years of the countdown of that golden moment.

The most valued issue in this piece is that Bangabandhu never lost hope for a future. He was a visionary and dreamt of leading this nation to the zenith of an exploitation-free society in every respect. He never thought of leaving the soil of Bangla, and his expository remark as his may be my last message alludes to his desire not to send the last message to the notion. This may not be so tough to understand why he cherishes to be in the midst of people again, and what leads him not to confirm his return to the lap of his motherland, Bangladesh. The call of unfinished duty led Robert Frost, the American poet of humanism, to write, Miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep. The country is not yet free from the clutches of the vultures of the West, the economy is crippled due to reserve heists, and the culture of faction is being infused in the veins of eternal Bongo. Hence, Bangabandhu feels urged to bell the cat as the populace has mandated him to claim their freedom back, which is lost at the pulpit of the pariah regime.

It is necessary to say that Bangabandhu had accomplished his legal and moral responsibility by declaring independence. It is a legal responsibility as he was mandated by the majority percent of voters in the election of 1970 in the faith that he would tarnish the manacles of the bloodsuckers. He was morally ordained because he was the man who retorted to the desire of people as he told in the 7 March speech, Today the people of Bengal desire emancipation. Again, he asked the Bangalee to take arms to be prepared for the struggle for emancipation. He was shaping the conscience of the Bangalee. Frankenstein created a giant, deformed creature in nature, and gave life to a dead effigy. However, the problem was that the deformed creature had no company to share its feelings and emotions. It likes to love and be loved. Thus, Frankenstein began to feel tormented as he created and gave life to something without ensuring a valid purpose for its living.

The lacs of Bangalee gathered at the Racecourse Maidan to listen to the call for independence, though Bangabandhu had to turn out strategic in delivery and the cause for this stanch has already been historical evidence.Instead, it was a preparatory note of independence, which Bangabandhu strived to organize through the description of the historical denial, the deliberate disparity, and the emergency of standing against the tyrannical forces. A struggle began to claim rights. The declaration of independence turned out a concrete visualization of the cherished word, independence, as Bangladesh was declared independent at the late night of 25 March. Thus, this telegraphed speech established a relation with the 7 March speech, the prelude of independence, whereas the 26 March speech was the epilogue.

Today, Bangladesh is independent is a miniature in length with the judgement of the syntactic construction, but it weighs much if one sees it through the semantic spectacles. Bangabandhu had to wait for 24 years to declare this and 7 March speech bears visible clues, in which Bangabandhu hoped for a peaceful settlement of all the problems regarding economic, political and cultural aspiration of a nation, Bangladesh. Yet, no one can ever reform a rogue as it goes he devil would not listen to the scriptures.

Even, the rogue had reached the edge of limit with the nightlong crackdown on 25 March. The moment taught Abraham Lincoln what to say before the mass, and an eternal poem came out that is now a revered memorable quote of the perfect definition of democracy, government of the people for the people, by the people. The declaration of independence corresponds Gettysburg speech, as it was the demand of the time, and Bangabandhu having foresightedness could read the time and utilize it properly.

Finally, the declaration of independence was a time-befitting call, which fills up the vacuum of 7 March speech where Bangabandhu urged his fellow citizens to be ready for sacrifice if necessity claims. The Bangalee internalized wait and see in the 7 March speech and the declaration of independence led them to internalize do or die to snatch their sun of freedom. It was the final judgement on the part of the leader, Sheikh Mujib, to guide the compatriots what to do and what not to do even at his absence.
