Gas cylinder blast kills auto-rickshaw driver in Ctg
The driver of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was killed after its cylinder exploded in Gachbaria College Gate area of Chandanaish upazila of Chattogram on Monday afternoon.
The identity of the driver could not be known as all the documents in the vehicle were gutted.
Arifuzzaman Sheikh, station officer of Chandanaish Fire Station, said the accident was occurred at around 3.30pm.
Quoting the eyewitnesses, the station officer said the auto-rickshaw caught fire following the CNG cylinder explosion and the driver could not get out from the vehicle and burnt to death.
On information, a unit of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire, he said, adding that there was no passenger in the auto-rickshaw during the incident.
The body was handed over to the police for further legal actions, he added.
