Housewife dies being hit by husband in Lalmonirhat
A housewife died after her husband reportedly hit her in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district.
Tahmina Begum, 19, wife of Alamgir Hossain of Shialkhoa union of the upazila.
Imtiaz Kabir, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, said Tahmima died on Thursday evening while being treated at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH). A murder case was filed in this connection on Friday, he said adding that Alamgir remained absconding after the incident.
Quoting locals, police said that Tahmina was the third wife of Alamgir. Tahmina lived at her father's house. The couple locked into an altercation over family issues on Wednesday. At one stage, Alamgir hit her with a stick, leaving her unconscious.
Meanwhile, Tahmina’s parents were not at the house during that time.
Locals rescued her and admitted her to RMCH, where she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday evening.
