A case has been filed against the chairman of a madrasa managing committee on charges of raping two children in Mongla, Bagerhat.
The accused was Awal Sardar, son of the late Mohar Ali Sardar from the Sundarbans union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mongla police station KM Azizul Islam said that Awal Sardar raped two children of a madrasa in Madur Palta village of Sundarbans union in Mongla upazila on February 10 and 14.
Following the incident, the father of one of the rape victims filed a case with Mongla police station under the Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act on Sunday morning.
The official said they continue drives to arrest the accused.
