A fire that broke out at a warehouse of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) in Khanpur area of Narayanganj on Saturday afternoon has been brought under control after four hours of effort.
According to Fakruddin Ahmed, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, the fire originated at around 1:15pm.
On information, a total of nine units of fire fighters from Narayanganj, Hajiganj, and Adamji stations rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 5:20pm.
No causalities have been reported so far. After the investigation, it will be possible to say the exact amount of damage, he added.
The cause of the fire would be known after the investigation, he added.
