3 killed, 2 run over by train in 4 dists

At least five people were killed and dozen others injured in separate road and train accidents in Chattogram, Kurigram, Barishal and Tangail.

Our Chattogram Staff Correspondent reports eight people, including a member of Bangladesh Navy, were injured when a microbus overturned near Bangabandhu tunnel at Anwara point in Chattogram on Tuesday.
The injured were identified as Navy personnel Gazi Mahbub Rahman Rony, 39, driver Rubel, 30, Ali Martuza, 27, Rashedul Karim, 28, Farhana Akter, 26, Munna, 25, Kanchim, 22, and Sazzad Hossain.

Our Kurigram Correspon-dent writes a biker was killed and his pillion rider was injured after an unidentified vehicle hit the bike on Kurigram-Nageshwari road on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Taibul Islam, 25, son of Md Ukil Ali of Majher Char area under  Nageshwari upazila while the identity of the injured could not be known immediately. Locals said Taibul and the other person were heading towards their houses from a local market around 10:00pm.

Our Barishal Correspondent reports  a 3-year-old child was killed and his mother injured after being hit by a truck on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway at Wazirpur upazila in Barishal district on Monday evening.

Our Tangail Correspondent adds two people, including a young girl, were killed after being crushed under the wheels of a train at two separate places of Kalihati upazila in Tangail district on Tuesday afternoon. The accidents occurred at Pungli and Solla areas under the upazila on Tuesday.
