Three found dead in Rajbari, Dinajpur, Meherpur

Three men were found dead in separate incidents in three districts- Rajbari, Dinajpur and Meherpur, on Friday and Saturday.
 
RAJBARI: Police recovered the body of a village police member, who was on duty of guarding a polling centre in Baliakandi Upazila of the district, on Saturday.

The incident happened in the morning at Char Arkandi Government Primary School under the upazila.

Deceased Ranjit Kumar Dey, 40, was a resident of Char Arkandi Village.

It was learnt that the village policeman Ranjit Kumar was on duty from Friday evening at the polling centre along with the schools night guard Yusuf Hossain. At around 3:30 am, Ranjit went to a garden behind the school to respond to natures call.

When Ranjit did not return even after half an hour, the night guard kept calling him. As Ranjit did not respond, the night guard informed his school madam and the local member over mobile phone.

Later on, the body of Ranjit was found in the garden next to the toilet of the school at around 5 am.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene in the morning and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police suspect that he might have been murdered.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliakandi Police Station (PS) Alamgir Hossain confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken after investigation.

CHIRIRBANDAR, DINAJPUR: Police recovered the body of a young man from the bank of a pond in Chirirbandar Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Khairul Islam, 26, son of Bablu Hossain, a resident of Tentulia Shah Para area under Tentulia Union in the upazila.

Police sources said locals spotted the body of Khairul on the bank of a pond next to his house at dawn and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene at around 8:30 am and sent it to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.  

The body bore several injury marks.

Police suspect that he might have been murdered and his body was dumped there on Friday night.

Chirirbandar PS OC Md Abul Hasnat Khan confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and filing of a case with the PS is underway in this regard.
 
MEHERPUR: Police recovered the body of an expatriate from a field in Sadar Upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman Milon, son of Nazrul Islam, a resident of Dhighirpara Village in the upazila. He was an expatriate and returned to the country from abroad two months back.

The deceaseds father Nazrul Islam said Milon returned the country two months back. After returning home, a quarrel took place in between Milon and his wife over the money he sent from abroad. Following this, his wife left for her fathers house.

However, Milon went out of the house early Friday, and he had been missing since then. The family members started searching for him in the morning, and found his body lying in a field in the area and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Meherpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
 
Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Karim confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter.
