JCD leader held over planning sabotage in Magura

MAGURA, Dec 5: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a leader of the BNPs student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) for his alleged planning of sabotage at polling stations in Magura district to disrupt Sundays election.

The arrested was identified as district JCD vice-president Mohammad Sajib Sheikh, 31, son of Muslim Sheikh, a resident of Police Lines area of the town.
Superintendent of Police Mashiuddowla Reza said at a press conference at his office on Friday that District Chhatra Dal vice-president Sajib Sheikh was arrested from his home on Thursday around 1:30 pm on the basis of secret information.

After his arrest, his mobile phone was analyzed and, according to his description, a plan for a centre-based sabotage on election day was found, Reza said.

Two cases against the arrested Sajib are pending in the court. He was recently released on bail, he added.
