SI Nanda Dulal gives statement in court

Suspended sub-inspector Nanda Dulal, no 3 accused in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case, gave confessional statement in a Cox's Bazar court on Monday.

Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah recorded hi s statement under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced him before the court around 10am.

With the statement of SI Nanda Dulal, five accused  in the case gave statements in the court.

On Sunday, suspended inspector Liakat Ali also gave his confessional statement in the same court.

APBn's ASI Shahjahan, and constables Rajib and Abdullah gave their confessional statement on August 26. They were, later,  sent to jail.

Senior ASP Khairul Islam, also RAB's investigation officer of the case, confirmed the matter.

On July 31 night, Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, 36, was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.

Later, his sister Sharmen Shahria Ferdousi filed a case where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre's Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two. Besides, seven more policemen were made accused in the case.
