Suspended inspector Liakat Ali was produced before a Cox's Bazar court on Sunday as he decided to make confessional statement in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced him before Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah's court.
Earlier, APBn's ASI Shahjahan, and constables Rajib and Abdullah gave their confessional statement. After that, they were sent to jail.
RAB arrested the trio on August 17 over Major Sinha murder case. A court granted seven-day remand for them the next day.
On July 31 night, Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
Later, his sister filed a case where she made Baharchhara Investigation Centre's Inspector Liakat Ali as prime accused and Teknaf Police Station OC as the accused number two. Besides, seven more policemen were made accused in the case.
Senior ASP Khayrul Islam, also RAB's investigation officer of the case, Director of Legal and Media wing Lt Col Ashik Billah, Director of Intelligence wing Lt Col Md Sarwar-Bin-Quasem and others were present at the spot.
