Terming the elections to the two city corporations as a challenge of the New Year, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said the government looks for a free, fair and inclusive election.
“Awami League will accept whatever the election outcome is,” said Quader while talking to reporters at the secretariat over current issues.
The Awami League general secretary said, “The Prime Minister has asked the authorities concerned to provide necessary assistance to the Election Commission for holding a credible and inclusive election.”
The elections to the two city corporations -- Dhaka south and north –- will be held on January 30.
Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda announced the election schedule on December 22, reports UNB.
