195 Rajshahi women, children face violence in 10 months
Some 195 women and children fell victims to violence in Rajshahi district in last 10 months till October.
The grim picture of repression was presented at a mobilization meeting titled 'Prevention of women and children repression, present context and role of media'.
BRAC in association with Association for Community Development (ACD) organised the programme on Sunday.
ACD monitoring and documentation officer Ruhul Amin placed the report through a power point presentation.
According to the report, of the total 195 incidents, 106 women and 89 children subjected to violence during the period.
Some 10 women were murdered, 21 victims of attempted to murder, three died unnatural deaths and 15 women fell victim to sexual assault while seven children were murdered, 17 raped, 12 victims of attempted rape and 17 victims of abduction.
