The Home Ministry on Thursday urged all media not to publish or broadcast any sensitive news or news against the important persons, political leaders, businessmen, government officials and institutions without proper verification of its authenticity.
Making the urge, the ministry on Thursday issued a mass notification for the media - print, electronic, online and social media.
In the notification, the ministry claimed that it's observed that some media are publishing some confusing reports against important persons, political leaders, businessmen, government officials and institutions now-a-days.
As a result, personal images of the persons and institutions are being damaged and social unrests are being created. It also results deterioration of public discipline and peace in the society.
Urging the media for playing role in keeping peace in the society, it said the government is confident on the role of media in the country.
