Two people reportedly died of heat stroke in Munshiganj district due to intense heat wave on Tuesday.
The deceased were Omar Ali, hailed from Mollarchar area under Munshiganj municipality, and Baten Majhi of Manikpur area.
Munshiganj General Hospital emergency department doctor Shaibal Basak confirmed the news.
According to the hospital and relatives, Baten Majhi was suffering from heart heart disease for a long time. On Tuesday he went to district registry office to sell land. After suddenly falling ill there, he was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
On the other hand, farmer Omar Ali fell unconscious while working on his land. Later, local people rescued him and took to the hospital. But he died before being taken to the hospital.
Munshiganj General Hospital emergency department doctor Shaibal Basak said that both were brought to the hospital dead. The body had symptoms of heat stroke. Two people died because they could not bear the intense heat.
