A young man was killed after a truck hit his motorcycle from the opposite direction at Manda upazila in Naogaon district on Thursday.
The accident took place around 2:00 pm on the Prosadpur-Jothbazar regional road in Mirpara area.
Deceased Russell Rana, 20, was son of Motahar Hossain Dewan, a resident of Talpatia village in the upazila.
Quoting eyewitnesses, police said a truck hit a motorcycle from the opposite direction while Russell was riding it recklessly, leaving him critically injured.
He was rescued and taken to Manda Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
The body would be handed over to the family after legal procedure, said Mozammel Haque Kazi, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
