Training on tea plantation held in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Mar 4: A three-day training on annual tea cultivation was held in the district recently.
The training was held at Panchagarh Regional Tea Board Training Centre. It was organized by Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI).
After the training, BTRI Director Ismail Hossain distributed certificates among participants as the chief guest.
Panchagarh Regional Tea Board Development Officer Amir Hossain presided over the certificate distribution function.
Among others, BTRIs Chief Scientific Officer Tawfiq Ahmed, Chief Scientific Officer Shamim Al Mamun, and Solidarity Asia Network Liaison Officer Mahmudul Alam were present.
Participants were given techniques and ideas on quality tea production, tea processing, tea app management, pruning, plucking, variety selection, nursery management, irrigation management, drought management, pest control management, shed management, high value tea production, tea marketing, tea auction, and tea law- 2016.
More than 60 people including assistant managers of tea gardens and tea factories, small tea farmers of Panchagarh-Thakurgaon districts participated in the workshop.
