Youth killed in M’singh lightning strike

A youth was killed by a lightning strike at Nandail upazila in Mymensingh district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Saidul Islam, 12, son of Hazrat Ali of Kamalpur village under Muajjempur union in the upazila.
According to locals, Saidul was heading towards market along with a friend. Suddenly, a powerful lightning struck on them and they became senseless.

Local farmers rescued them instantly.

The other became conscious, but when Saidur did not regain consciousness, Saidur’s family rushed him to Nandail Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Nandail Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) confirmed the incident.
