Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf to be buried in Faridpur on Friday

The first namaj-e-janaza of BNP vice-chairman and former minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf was held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Esha prayer on Wednesday.

He will be buried at his family graveyard at 'Moyez Manzil' in Faridpur town after his last namaj-e-janaza at 3:00pm on Friday at Rajendra College ground in Faridpur town.

Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf died from novel coronavirus at at Evercare Hospital around 1 pm on Wednesday while he was undergoing treatment there being infected with Covid-19.

BNP Chairperson's press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan said Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf was tested Covid-19 positive. Since then he had been undergoing treatment at CCU of the Evercare Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was given life support. However, he breathed his last there on Wednesday.

The elderly leader was the member of parliament from Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency. He was appointed as the health minister in the Khaleda Zia government's cabinet in 1991 and Disaster Management and Relief minister in 2001.
