HM Ershad's 2nd janaza held at Jatiya Sangsad

The second namaz-e-janaza for Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad was held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad in the capital on Monday.

His body was taken there from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) around 10:15am.

President Abdul Hamid attended the 2nd funeral prayer held around 10:45am.

People from all walks of life gathered on Jatiya Sangsad premises since morning to join the janaza.

The former military ruler's body will be taken to his Kakrail party office at noon.

Another funeral prayer will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Asr prayers.

Earlier on Sunday, Ershad's first janaza was held at the Army Central Mosque in Dhaka after Zohr prayers.

Ershad, also the leader of the opposition in parliament, breathed his last around 7:45am the same day at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
