American cutting edge techs to bolster BD economy

Serious tax reform can increase Bangladeshs tax to gross domestic products (GDP) ratio by automation in the entire system and the National Board of Revenue has to do a lot to achieve it.

Bangladeshs tax to GDP ratio is the lowest in South Asia and this could be increased by collecting more revenue said Salman Fazlur Rahman, Advisor to Prime Minister on Private Sector Industry and Investment while speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of 3-day 29th US tradeshow in the citys Intercontinental Dhaka on Thursday.

Among others Peter D. Haas, US Ambassador in Dhaka, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Syed Ershad Ahmed, President, American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Bangladesh Eric M. Walker, Vice president of the AmCham also spoke in the opening.

The three-day tradeshow is jointly organized by AmCham (Bangladsh) and the US Embassy in Dhaka in which 44 US companies are showcasing their high-end products.

Rahman in his speech urged improvement in National Board of Revenue policies to increase revenue collection, emphasizing the role of digitalization in the process.  

He acknowledged challenges in various business processes, particularly online land registration. However, he expressed confidence in finding solutions.

He said the US showed the path of tradeshow and now a lot of trade exhibition events are taking place organized by various business sectors every year. Few US investors are game particularly changers in Bangladeshs economic developments.

AmaCham president Syed Ershad Ahmed in his welcome remark said visitors would discover exceptional American products in this fair driven by "lateral developments." He highlighted the participating companies saying everyone is showcasing a range of world-class offerings.

Ambassador Peter D. Haas underscored the cutting-edge technology that defines US products. He reiterated the US commitment to supporting womens empowerment in Bangladesh through dedicated seminars during the trade show.
 
Ambassador Haas further highlighted the US as the single largest investor in Bangladesh, now exceeding $4 billion.  He also announced the opening of a new commercial service office to strengthen trade ties between the two countries.

Junaid Ahmed Polok took pride in the nations remarkable strides in building digital solutions to changing landscape. He claimed that Bangladesh has exceeded its IT sector job creation target ahead of schedule, reaching an impressive 2 million jobs.  

Polok further boasted about the digitization of 2,500 government services.  Promoting Bangladeshs business-friendly policies, he attracted the attention to a flourishing tech-savvy culture with 7,000 IT freelancers thriving globally, with the US as their biggest client.
 
Celebrating the rise of 2,500 startups in AI, machine operations, and other fields, Polok positioned Bangladesh as "the next Korea." He announced securing $1 billion in funding for startups, emphasizing the intent to use it for propelling Bangladeshi IT sector further.
