22 makeshift markets of sacrificial cattle to be opened by DNCC, DSCC

Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) planned to open 22 makeshift markets of sacrificial animals, besides  two permanent markets at Sarulia and Gabtoli.
DNCC will lease out nine and DSCC will set up 11 temporary cattle markets.

Mohammad Mahe Alam, DNCCs chief property officer told the Daily Observer that  initial lease notices for setting up nine cattle markets has been issued. The DNCC retains the rights to cancel or open more haats if needed, he said.  He explained efforts to boost online livestock transactions, including facilitating payments using online platforms and ATM booths.

According to the DNCC notice cattle markets will be opened on open spaces adjacent to Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, Kanchkura Beparipara Rahman Nagar residential project site in Ward 44 and the Mastul Checkpost in Khilkhets Ward 43. Open spaces near Sutivola canal in Bhatara, Kaola Shialdanga, Boubazar area in Uttaras sectors 16 and 18, and Badda Eastern Housing (Aftabnagar) Blocks E, F, G, H, L, M, N.
