Two friends died in a bike accident at Kaliakair upazila in
Gazipur district on Monday afternoon.
The
accident took place around 5pm at Shewratala area under Atabah union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Shafi Uddin, 18, son of Nur Islam, and his friend Rayhan, 20, son of Nurul Amin, both were residents of Goailbari village of Ashulia union.
It was known that, the duo along with another went out to wander in the area. At one stage, when they reached in Shewratali area, the motorbike driver lost control over the steering and hit a roadside tree, leaving all of them critically injured.
They were rescued and taken to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared Shafi and Rayhan dead.
Kaliakair Police Station inspector (operation) Zobayer Ahmed confirmed the matter and said that they have recovered the bodies.
Legal actions will be taken in this regard, added the police official.
