A man was reportedly stabbed to death by his son at Fulbaria upazila in Kurigram district on Saturday morning.
The incident took place at Sor Jotindro Narayon village in the upazila at around 11:00 am.
The deceased was Akbar Ali alias Ekabbor Member, 59, a resident of Sor Jotindro Narayon village in the upazila.
Locals said Sazidul, deceased's son, has slightly mental disorder.
On Saturday morning, he stabbed his parents indiscriminately as he couldn't find any rice in the kitchen room for eating, leaving them critically injured.
Later, locals rescued them and were taking to took to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Akbar Ali died succumbed to his on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital injuries at around 4:00 pm.
Pran krishno Debnath, officer in-charge of Fulbaria Police Station, said, “Police have been arrested the accused. A case will be filed against him”.
The body will be handed over to the family after completing autopsy, the OC added.
