Msing, Cumilla city corpns polls today

Mayoral elections in Mymensingh and Cumilla City Corporation and six municipal elections will be hold today Saturday.

The Election Commission (EC) has completed all preparations, voting equipment including electronic voting machines (EVMs) was handed over to the presiding officers and other officials concerned on Friday.

Voting will continue from 8am till 4pm on Saturday.
Mymensingh Returning Officer Belayet Hossain told the media that all preparations have been completed

for free and peaceful polling following the instructions of the EC.

He said RAB, BGB, police, APBn and Ansar will be deployed to maintain law and order, and 33 executive magistrates and 11 judicial magistrates will be on duty.

Voters can come to their polling centres and cast votes without any hassle, the Belayet added.

Elections of Patuakhali Municipality of Patuakhali district, Bakshiganj Municipality of Jamalpur district, Amtali Municipality of Barguna district, Trishal Municipality of Mymensingh district, Munshiganj Municipality of Munshiganj district and vacant post of mayor of Shibganj municipality of Bogra district also hold today.

Voting will take place in 233 polling centres.

Meanwhile, the EC has deployed Police, Armed Police Battalion, RAB and other striking forces to hold the elections.
