An on-duty traffic policeman was killed after being hit by a 'Bikash Paribahan' bus in the capital's Mohakhali.

Deceased Abdul Aziz Molla, 47, was an ASI working in the Mohakhali zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Gulshan traffic division.

Banani Police Station OC Nure Azam said the Bikash Paribahan bus ran over Abdul Aziz while he was crossing a road near Mohakhali flyover, leaving him serious injured.

He was first rushed to the Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali. As condition deteriorated, the ASI was transferred to the Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
