Khulna train services restored after 9 hours

Khulna's rail communication with other parts became normal around 11:40am on Tuesday, after nine hours of suspension.

Kotchandpur station manager Golam Mostafa said the train services resumed after a relief train from Ishwardi recovered the bogies.

Defying signal, a oil-laden train collided head-on with a goods-laden one as both the vehicles entered the same rail line at Safdalpur Railway Station under Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenidah around 2:30am.

As a result, engines of the trains and some bogies were damaged, suspending the rail communication.
