Two more people, who sustained severe burn injuries from Friday's airconditioners explosion incident inside a mosque in Narayanganj city, died on Saturday afternoon.
With them, the death toll rose to 16.
Confirming the matter, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, said, "The condition of 21 burn patients are critical. All of the injured have burnt their respiratory tracts."
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in this tragic incident and directed to give maximum care to the victims.
Of the dead, 14 were identified as Jewel, 7, Md Delwar, 48, Muazzin of the mosque, Md Jamal, 40, Sabbir, 18, Jubayer, 18, Humayun Kabir, 70, Kuddus Bepari, 70, Md Ibrahim, 42, Mostafa Kamal, 34, Rifat, 18, Junayed, 28, Rassel, 34, Jaynal and Mainuddin, 12.
The identities of another two are yet not known.
