Arrest warrant issued against OC Pradeep, 8 others

An arrest warrant has been issued against nine policemen including Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Saha in a case filed in connection with the killing of Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.

The warrant was issued on Wednesday night following a case filed by slain Major (Retd) Rashed's sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdousi.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah issued the arrest warrants against OC Pradeep and eight others after taking the case into cognizance on Wednesday night.

The authorities have withdrew 17 police members including the warranted nine in this connection.

The eight other accused are: inspector Liakat Ali of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre, SI Nandadulal Raxit of Teknaf Police Station, four constables -- Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun, and Md Mostafa, ASI Liton Mia, and SI Tutul.
