Two bodies of youth killed earlier handed-over to BGB

A Bangladeshi youth was injured in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and another two bodies of Bangladeshi youth killed in BSF firing earlier were returned on Thursday.

Our Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports a Bangladeshi youth was injured in firing by the BSF along Sonamasjid border in  Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Thursday.
The injured is Oliul Islam, son of Monirul Islam Moni of Baliadighi village of Shibganj upazila.

Lt Col Golam Kibria, Commander of 59 BGB battalion,  said when 5 to 6 smugglers along with Oliul entered India around 3:00am BSF personnel opened fire on them, leaving Oliul injured.

His associates rescued him and took him to Chapainawabganj district hospital. However, he did not receive treatment at the hospital and left it.

Commander of 59 BGB battalion said a letter will be sent to the BSF protesting the border firing incident.

Our Lalmonirhat Correspondent writes India has sent back the body of Bangladeshi youth Liton Miah, who died in BSF firing along the Dighaltari border in Lalmonirhat.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed over Litons body at Jhaurani border of Hatibandha upazila early Thursday in presence of border guards and police of both the countries.

Earlier on Tuesday, Liton Mia, 18, was shot by BSF and, later, died at an Indian hospital.

Hatibandha Police Station OC Saiful Islam said Litons body was handed over to his family on completion of legal procedure.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Liton was injured in BSF firing while bringing cows from India illegally with the members.

Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalions Commanding Officer (CO) Lt Col Mofazzal Hossain Akhand told media that the BSF expressed regret for the incident and promised not to repeat the incident. "They (BSF) handed over Litons body to the family through us," he added.

Our Naogaon Correspondent adds the body of Bangladeshi farmer Al Amin, who was shot to death allegedly by BSF along the Nitpur border in Naogaons Porsha upazila on Tuesday, was handed over to BGB on Wednesday night.

After a flag meeting between the border forces of Bangladesh and India, BSF members handed over the body of Al Amin through 236 main pillars of the bordering area at Hapania around 10:00pm, said Subedar Mahfuzur Rahman of Nitpur BGB camp.

Public representatives and police officers of Porsha Police Station were also present there.

On March 26, Al Amin was shot dead when the BSF members from Mil Mari of Malda district in India opened fire on him along Nitpur border area in Porsha upazila.
