Police on Tuesday arrested a man reportedly for killing his wife at Monohardi upazila in Narsingdi district on Monday.
The arrested is Rubel Rana, 30, a resident of Satgram village under Daulatpur upazila in Manijganj district.
According to the case statement, there had been a family dispute between Rubel and his in-laws members. Following this, Rubel used to lock into fight with the victim and his wife Sheuli Akter, 23.
Later on Monday, Rubel and the victim locked into fight again and at one stage of the fight Rubel strangled his wife to death after twisting a mobile phone charger cable on her neck.
The deceased mother Rakhi Begum lodged a murder case with Monohardi Police Station accusing Rubel in the same day.
Md Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, officer-in- charge of Monohardi Police Station said following the case, a team of police, led by him, conducted several drives and arrested him.
