A team of 'Kanthabithi' an organisation of elocutionists in Magura, took part in a two-day recitation festival held on March 19 and 20 at 'Pashkura Rabindra-Nazrul Manch' in East-Medinipur, said Kanthabithi's convener Khan Mazharul Haque Lipu in a written statement.
Elocutionists from different areas of West Bengal performed at the recitation festival organised by Sanchayeeta Abritti Prashikhkhan Kendra (Sanchayeeta Recitation Training Centre) of East-Medinipur.
Water Resource Affairs Minister of West Bengal Soumen Mohapatro attended the recitation festival as chief guest.
Except for Kanthabithi's six members, a member of 'Abritti Abritti' a Kushtia Islamic University based organisation of elocutionists also participated at the event.
Members of Kanthabithi performed a recital production named 'Rakte Kena Bangla Bhasha' based on the language movement of Bangladesh. They also staged some solo performances of recitation.
The seven-member team of 'Kanthabithi' and 'Abritti Abritti' contains the names of Mazharul Haque Lipu, Rashedul Islam, Abdus Selim, Jewel Ahmed, Salahuddin Ahmed, Sanjana Rahman Tuli and Brishti Zaman.
