Actor Nazmul Huda Bachchu no more

Veteran film and television actor Nazmul Huda Bachchu passed away at Dhaka's Square Hospital on June 28. He was 78.
Bachchu mentored such stars as Bulbul Ahmed and Ujjal over the course of his long career. The actor hit the limelight in '70s and '80s with films as 'Surja Dighal Bari', 'Sareng Bou', Behula Lokhindore'.
He went on to act in 'Chandrakatha', 'Srabon Megher Din', 'Doria Parer Doulata', 'Chandra Grohon', 'Bidrohi Padma', 'Agyatnama' and 'Runway'. He also acted in numerous television dramas and regularly featured in skits on the popular magazine show 'Ittadi'.
He received the National Film Award and various other prestigious prizes for his work.
Bachchu lived at Indira Road with his wife and three daughters.
