Dr Shakira Nova is a physician, presenter, singer and writer with sparkling personality. Recently I had a conversation with her for the Daily Observer.
Please tell us about your journey as a presenter and singer
I started my career as a presenter in a BTV programme named "Kriangon". Later after this, I have been hosting health shows at different TV channels and subsequently musical shows as well. From my very childhood I learned singing at Bulbul Lalitokola Academy and used to perform in children's programmes in BTV. I love and enjoy hosting programmes and singing. I do these from the bottom of my heart.
You write articles in newspapers
Writing is another obsession to me. I took part in an Essay Competitions in childhood at National level and stood first. Now I love writing articles on different issues in mainstream newspapers to create awareness on health issues especially on sexual and reproductive health and SDGs among people.
Who inspired you most?
My entire family is my inspiration. Today I am what I am because of my parents mostly. In my childhood days my mother contributed a lot in my upbringing.
Country, which you like most.
Certainly I like and love my country Bangladesh the most. I have visited many countries in my for my professional pursuits. Among those I like Stockholm of Sweden and wish to go there over and over.
What is your dream?
I dream to write more and more on health and other issues and to publish books with my write ups so that I can contribute hugely for my nation and for the entire world as well.
