Prof Giashuddin Miah appointed BSMRAU VC

Renowned agroforestry & environmental scientist Professor Dr. Md. Giashuddin Miah has been appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) in Gazipur. Prof Dr Md Giashuddin Miah, comes from a respectable muslim family. He was born in 1960 in the district of Narsingdi.
Prof. Dr. Giashuddin Miah maintained excellent academic records in all public examinations. He obtained B. Sc. Ag. (Hons.) with distinction in 1st class and M. Sc. Ag in Agronomy with 1st first class from BAU, Mymensingh respectively and PhD in Philippine. He has many research articles published in national and international journals.
Dr. Giashuddin Miah during his long-standing bright career has held various important positions including founder of the Faculty of Agroforestry department, Head of the Department of Agroforestry, Director (Research), Director (Student's Welfare), Syndicate Member, Dean, Graduate Studies, and Treasurer of the University. Dr. Giashuddin Miah is also attached with various social and development organizations at home and abroad.
