An inaugural ceremony of a two-day orientation workshop on 'QA Mechanism for Round-4 Universities' was held at UGC auditorium on Wednesday. Professor Abdul Mannan, chairman of UGC, graced the function as chief guest while Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta ndc, project director (additional secretary) of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), presided over it. Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, head of Quality Assurance Unit, UGC delivered the welcome address.
Professor Mannan, in his speech, said that the purpose of IQAC is to enhance the quality of higher education. Laying emphasis on quality assurance cell, he urged the every university to set up IQAC cell on its own responsibility to enhance the standard of tertiary education and continue functioning even after the end of the project.
He urged the directors and additional directors of IQAC to maintain minimum standard of quality education at their designated universities so that our graduates can compete in global arena.
Directors and additional directors of IQAC of Bangladesh Open University, Bangladesh University of Professionals, University of Development Alternative, Prime University, City University, University of Information Technology & Sciences, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, and Metropolitan University are participating in the workshop. Officials from UGC and HEQEP, among others, were present in the inaugural ceremony.
