The two-day '4th RUCC Job Fair-2017' started on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus yesterday aiming to create opportunities for the students through ensuring their access to the job markets.
Rajshahi University Career Club (RUCC) is organizing the fair on the premises of Shaheed Sukhranjan Samaddar Teachers-Students Cultural Centre.
Around 25 renowned companies including BRAC, Reckitt Benckiser, Pran-RFL Group, Sajeeb Group, ACCA Bangladesh, Texlab, CBQit, Future Headers, BSB Global Network, Lotto, SSG, Meditel, Oracle BCS, Medionics and Mentors are participating in the fair.
RU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Mizanuddin inaugurated the fair as chief guest by releasing balloons and pigeons.
Pro-VC Prof Dr. Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, student advisor Prof Mizanur Rahman, former student advisor Prof Sadequl Arefin Matin, Prof Shah Azam Shantanu of Marketing department, teacher of Accounting and Information System department Md. Imran Hossain attended the programme as special guests while president of RUCC Kazi Mahmud Dip was in the chair.
Kazi Mahmud Dip informed that a total of 10 carrier based seminars will be held during the two-day fair.
Senior officials and human resource experts will address the seminars to educate the students for becoming eligible candidates to get better jobs, he added.
On the first day of the fair, applicants, only the graduates and upcoming graduates of Rajshahi University and country's other universities, dropped their CVs against the positions offered by the participating companies.
