UGC to discuss public university admission process

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will hold an emergency meeting with public university vice-chancellors on Monday (November 9) to discuss the admission process for the 2026-27 academic session.

The meeting, chaired by UGC Chairman Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, will be held at the commission's conference room, with UGC members and representatives of the Education Ministry also attending.

Discussions will focus on admission plans, examination methods and the possibility of introducing a coordinated admission system across public universities. The UGC chairman will brief journalists on the decisions and next steps after the meeting.
