US President Donald Trump walked away without responding after a reporter confronted him with a question about the Republican Party's defeat in the November midterm elections, calling him a “loser”.
The incident took place on Friday as Trump spoke to reporters outside the White House before departing for Florida, according to a report by British newspaper The Independent.
During the exchange, a reporter shouted: “Mr President, how does it feel to be a loser?”
Trump did not turn around or respond to the question. He continued walking away without addressing the reporter.
The November 3 midterm elections dealt a major blow to Trump and the Republican Party, with Democrats winning control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Democrats also made significant gains in areas traditionally considered Republican strongholds, strengthening their position across several regions.
The election results marked a setback for Trump's leadership midway through his presidency.
