Model and actress Samira Khan Mahi is set to represent Bangladesh at the 75th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to be held in Puerto Rico on November 24.
She has been named the winner of Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025, with the official announcement made at an event held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Purbachal Expressway area of the capital on Saturday night.
Tanzia Zaman Mithila, the previous year's Miss Universe Bangladesh winner, crowned Mahi at the event.
The programme was attended by Miss Universe Bangladesh National Director Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi, filmmaker Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, and several models and choreographers.
Expressing her excitement about representing Bangladesh on the international stage, Mahi said it would be her first international appearance, despite having received recognition from domestic audiences through television drama.
She also admitted feeling nervous about the challenge, particularly because she had very little time to prepare.
"I was informed only five days ago that I would be representing Bangladesh. Preparing to represent a country on an international platform within such a short time is not easy," she said.
According to the organisers, Mahi will begin participating in the official activities of the 75th Miss Universe competition on November 11, alongside contestants from different countries.
Earlier, Shirin Shila in 2019, Anika Alam in 2024 and Tanzia Zaman Mithila in 2025 were selected as Miss Universe Bangladesh winners and represented the country at the international pageant.
