The admission test for government and private medical and dental colleges for the 2026-27 academic session will be held on 18 December across the country.
Director General of the Directorate General of Health Education (DGHE) Professor Dr Md Nazmul Hossain confirmed the schedule on Saturday (7 November) night.
He stated that the formal admission circular will be published within the next two days, while online application processing is expected to begin between 15 November and 18 November.
Addressing the revised schedule, Professor Nazmul Hossain explained that the administration had initially targeted 4 December to conduct the combined medical and dental entrance examinations.
However, the plan had to be deferred due to delays in publishing the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results.
"Furthermore, the written examination for the 51st BCS is scheduled for 11 December. Consequently, we decided to fix 18 December for conducting the admission test," the DGHE Director General added.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to conduct a retake examination on 1 December for candidates who did not pass the recent HSC and equivalent examinations.
However, health education authorities have not yet clarified whether students who pass the retake examination will be eligible to sit for the medical and dental admission test.
