Gas supply to the national grid has increased as Summit's floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, resumed operations after maintenance, restoring supplies from both the country's LNG terminals.
Petrobangla said regasification at the terminal restarted at 1PM on Saturday (November 7), following the completion of maintenance work.
According to Petrobangla data at 2PM, total gas supply stood at 2,408 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), including 1,584 MMCFD from domestic gas fields and 824 MMCFD from LNG.
The terminal was shut down on Wednesday (November 4) for maintenance, causing total gas supply to fall from 2,540 MMCFD at 8AM to 2,079 MMCFD by 10AM that day.
Petrobangla had warned that the maintenance shutdown could cause low gas pressure across the country until the terminal resumed regasification.
