Prova responds to online backlash over Pori Moni support

Television actress Sadia Jahan Prova has hit back at social media critics following backlash over her support for fellow actress Pori Moni, affirming that personal attacks and online harassment will not compromise her principles regarding women's rights.
Prova faced criticism from a section of netizens who dragged up a past personal leak incident after she publicly voiced solidarity with Pori Moni.
Addressing her critics in a detailed social media post on Friday (November 6) night, Prova stated that human dignity and respect are non-negotiable.
"I will stand by any woman. A thousand times over if necessary. Say whatever you wish about me, question my character, or label me however you want. Your insults will never change my principles," Prova wrote.
While clarifying that standing in solidarity with a woman does not imply blind approval of all her actions, Prova emphasized that no individual has the right to subject a woman to harassment or public humiliation.
"I may not agree with every action of a woman. But that does not give anyone the right to disrespect, harass, or make her feel unsafe. The judgment of her choices and character rests between her and the Almighty," she added.
Reflecting on the recent incident involving Pori Moni, Prova noted, "After speaking with those present at the scene, I realized that the allegation brought against the journalist may not have been accurate. However, I genuinely feel empathy for what she had to endure in that situation."
Responding directly to those using past events to shame her, the actress stated, "To those trying to embarrass me over an incident for which I was never responsible—your accusations do not make me a perpetrator. Your judgment does not define my identity."
The controversy stems from an incident on November 5 when actress Pori Moni alleged inappropriate physical contact by a journalist on court premises. Prova subsequently released a video message supporting Pori Moni and sharing a past unwanted experience of her own, which drew widespread social media commentary.
